  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Mix buttermilk and vanilla extract in another bowl; add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Press the dough into the prepared pan.
  5. For the filling, mix brown sugar and cinnamon; drizzle melted butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown; let cool completely in the pan.
  7. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and softened butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
