  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 oz container Cool Whip
  • Optional: Orange food coloring, sprinkles, and Halloween-themed candies for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until smooth. Spread the mixture in the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk until thickened (add orange food coloring if desired). Chill for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Cut the cooled cake into circles using your trifle dish as a guide.
  5. Layer in a trifle dish: start with cake pieces, add pudding, then Cool Whip. Repeat until ingredients are used up.
  6. Decorate with sprinkles and candy before serving.
