  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • Fondant spiders (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined to form the dough.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness and cut out circles using a cookie cutter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden around the edges; cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Melt dark chocolate and dip each cookie halfway into it, then let them set on parchment paper.
  7. Melt white chocolate, pipe spirals over each cookie, and use a toothpick to create a spiderweb effect.
  8. Decorate with fondant spiders if desired.
